Spitfire Club Online
Registration is now live!
Reading is one of the most important activities our kids can do right now. In addition to all of the normal benefits of reading, keeping in the habit of regular reading is particularly important to prevent "COVID slide." Reading also has the magical quality of being able to introduce us to new friends and transport us to different places at a time when we're unable to do so ourselves.
In addition to our programming on YouTube, Spitfire offers online reading clubs for girls in grades pre-K through Grade 5. Our programming is free and available to everyone. We provide all materials necessary for participation and deliver them to your door. What's more -- all participants receive excellent, grade-level appropriate books for their home libraries. We hope you'll join us!
Spitfire Club cohorts will meet on Zoom weekly from the week of September 28 - the week of November 16. Our fall unit is built around a theme of creativity, where we will explore the Spitfire values of curiosity, resilience, empathy, authenticity, and tenacity through the lens of being creative. Clubs will be offered to the following age groups at the following times:
Pre-K - Kindergarten | Wednesdays from 3 - 3:45pm with Ms. Lorraine
1st-3rd Grades | Mondays from 4 - 5pm with Ms. Amanda
1st-3rd Grades | Tuesdays from 3 - 4pm with Ms. Amanda
1st-3rd Grades | Wednesdays from 4-5pm with Ms. Amanda
1st-3rd Grades | Thursdays from 3 - 4pm with Ms. Amanda
4th-5th Grades | Fridays from 3 - 4pm with Ms. Kara
Can't join one of our Zoom cohorts? We will continue to post a new Spitfire Club read-aloud to our YouTube page most Fridays, featuring a great book with a Spitfire-y female protagonist, plus games and activities to enjoy. Our YouTube programming is designed to be fully independent -- your Spitfire person should be able to do all Spitfire activities on their own, hopefully giving you 20-30 minutes of peace.
